So, here I am in the library writing one of my final blogs for Writer's Craft. The task at hand is to desribe a sunset to a person who is visually impaired ('blind' isn't a dirty word, but I prefer to say it this way).
To my blind friend:
A sunet is one of the most beautiful things you will ever see. I suppose for you it is difficult to quantify what 'beautiful' is, but trust me, just hearing the word should make you understand. The sunset may not be something you can reach out and touch, but it reminds us that we do exist and that we are on this earth. Its colourful rays of yellow, orange and red light (and on occasion a soft pink or purple glow) splash across the earth. Its colour fills the sky with warmth and it's one of those moments you never forget and it never becomes monotonous. No sunset is ever the same as the one before it. Basically, this big ball of soft, yet vibrantly rich, colours floods your vision as it sinks lower and lower to the ground, disappearing a few minutes after you first see it. It's the most pleasant way to end your day, and the best way to start your night of sleep. On cold days, a sunset warms your heart and on warm days it makes you truly appreciate the beautiful weather. In any case, the sunset is one of those things that makes Mother Nature such a different animal - there's nothing like the natural and irreplicable beauty of a sunset.
Signed,
Samantha
Samantha, it was nice to finally see some of your blogs! You're missing a few, but the ones here seem to be well devised. Excellent work throughout = )
